Australian Government is developing a National Health Literacy Strategy as an immediate priority of the National Preventative Health Strategy. The objective is to develop an evidence based, person-centred strategy for improving health literacy. The Australian Genomics response highlighted projects aiming to improve genomic health literacy as examples and discussed the need for cross-sector partnerships in developing evidence-based health information reaching all Australians.
