The Australian Government engaged the Leukemia Foundation to develop Australia’s first National Action Plan for Blood Cancer in 2019. Australian Genomics provided a submission as part of a targeted consultation process, which highlighted our strong support for the development of the National Action Plan. We contributed perspectives on the Framework, patient reported outcomes, the role of private health insurance, supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander patients and their families, and successful models for implementation and governance, with a key focus on the need to prioritise access to genomic testing as part of standard care for all patients with blood cancer.
