NIF workshop: Measuring the Value of Genomics in Healthcare

Home All news & events Events NIF workshop: Measuring the Value of Genomics…

When    Virtual workshop on Friday 8 November 2024, 7am (AEDT)
Where    Online. Link will be provided in the registration confirmation email.
Registration   Registration is free and available here.

Join the virtual workshop run by the GA4GH National Initiatives Forum, focused on measuring the value of genomics.

This virtual workshop will focus on exchanging strategies, tools and experience in measuring the value of genomic testing in healthcare. Demonstrating value is key in informing health technology assessments (HTAs), clinical practice and policy decisions and yet standardised outcome measures and frameworks are still in their infancy. The task of demonstrating value is further complicated by genomic technologies and their clinical applications continuing to evolve at pace.

Speakers

The panel will feature an esteemed group of speakers, including Robin Hayeems from Canada, Hadley Stevens Smith from the USA, Ilias Goranitis from Australia, James Buchanan from the UK, and Brian Chung and Clara Chung from Hong Kong.

They will discuss their experience of measuring value in rare disease genomic diagnostics and screening, followed by a Q&A/discussion which will provide an opportunity to identify synergies, learn more about existing tools and frameworks, and explore how to build upon these efforts nationally and internationally.
