Genomic medicine and technology sector the “shining light” of Australian innovation

Mr Ferris’ AC, has remarked that the country’s genomic medicine and technology sector is “world leading”, naming the Australian Genome Research Facility (Walter and Eliza Hall Institute of Medical Research), the Kinghorn Centre for Clinical Genomics (Garvan Institute of Medical Research), and the Australian Genomics Health Alliance, as key among Australia’s push toward becoming a top-tier “innovation nation”.

Innovation and Science Australia has been tasked with developing recommendations for the Australian Government on the key challenges to positioning Australia as a top tier innovation nation. Mr Ferris will describe these challenges in a speech to the Australian American Chamber of Commerce in the coming days.
